The Second Royal Judging of wines “Royal Wine Challenge” was held in Prague,from May 22nd -24th under the patronage of the Serbian King Aleksandar Karagjorgjevic The Second and the Italian Princesses Strotzi from Toscana. The prize awarding was held on an official ceremony under the auspices of the “Royal Wine Night” in the Chateau in Melnik, hosted by the Prince Lobkowicz, a member of one of the oldest aristocratic families.



The aim of the event “Royal Wine Challenge” is to support the development of the wine- consuming culture and the viticulture as well.
This year the wines were judged in 6 various categories:

  • White wines (dry and semi-dry)
  • Rose wines (dry and semi-dry
  • Red wines (dry and semi-dry)
  • Sparkling wines
  • Dessert wines
  • Special wines

The members of the Committee judging the wines come from countries that have a long- standing tradition of wine production.
At this prestigious competition , the sparkling wine “Brut” of the Skovin Winery was awarded with a Big Gold medal for quality. The wine “Brut” was awarded with this prestigious recognition among strong competition of sparkling wines from 15 world countries.

Another Skovin wine that was awarded  at the “Royal Wine Challenge” competition is the “Royal Red”, being awarded with a Silver medal.
